I've always kinda hated the goat debate, not only in basketball but in most team sports. Different eras and rules, different management decisions and team structures, so many variables outside of the player's control. Heck, players having completely different strengths and weaknesses and playing different positions, and picking an arbitrary way to compare them, whether it's points, rings, etc. It's comparing apples to oranges and saying "Oranges have more vitamin C, therefore oranges are the best fruit".
